The air temperature when the heaters
and pumps were turned off was 10 Deg C
The overnight air temperature dropped
to 3 Deg C
The pumps and heaters were turned off
at 5.00pm and the temperature of the water re-measured at 10am the following morning.
With no cover on the swimming pool's
water the temperature at 10am was 5 Deg C a loss of 26 Deg C or 83% of it’s
heat
With a solar cover on the swimming
pool's water the temperature at 10am was 8 Deg C a loss of 23 Deg C or 74% of
it’s heat
With an Aquawarm cover on the swimming
pool's water the temperature at 10am was 29 Deg C a loss 2 Deg C or 6% of it’s heat
May 2007 Test
The test was carried out in an
industrial unit with no air movement.
The water in the pools when the
heating and pumps were turned off was 31 Deg C
The air temperature when the heating
and pumps were turned off was 19 Deg C
The overnight air temperature dropped
to 17.5 Deg C
The pumps and heaters were turned off
at 4.30pm on the 21 May and the temperature of the water re-measured at 9.30am on the 22
May.
With no cover on the water temperature
at 9.30am was 22.5 Deg C a loss of 8.5 Deg C or 27.4% of it’s heat
With a solar cover on the water
temperature at 9.30am was 25 Deg C a loss of 6 Deg C or 19.3% of it’s heat
With an Aquawarm cover on the water
temperature at 9.30am was 30.5 Deg C a loss 0.5 Deg C or 1.6% of it’s heat
